As the second wave of COVID unleashed itself upon American society, Dirk Beveridge set off on a tour across the country to meet the people, the teams and individuals who kept our country supplied with the products we needed but equally important they also supplied us with hope, optimism, jobs, meaning, purpose, and community vitality.
Emerging from the stress and fatigue that enveloped American society during the COVID era are the stories of human resiliency, optimism, and innovation and of businesses not just surviving but thriving. Among the businesses that supplied America are the hundreds of thousands of independent, many family-run, distribution businesses. This book is about the goodness of these businesses and the human stories that inspire and lift us all to be our better selves.
